If my clients have been trying to give me baby fever here lately, it is working! I have had a string of newborns the past several weeks. Not a peep of complaint from me, I ADORE newborns, but I am seriously getting the fever. I think spending time with the sweet moms adoring their new baby is what sends me over the edge into incurable baby fever territory! This newborn session was definitely no exception. Baby Alex joined the family as son #2 in this precious family. I can’t even find the words for how much I enjoy observing the love that is lavished on a newborn, it just leaves me beaming for days. Austin balanced a newborn with a toddler boy so gracefully, a beautiful act of motherhood. We started off in Alex’s room trying to rock him back to sleep. Austin wasn’t planning on being in any of the shots, but I talked her into it and these sweet moments ended up being some of my favorites. It usually happens that way for me, I just love the natural emotion that exudes from a mother caring for her newborn.

Only a yoga instructor could look this amazing 6 days after giving birth! :)

Before I had a baby of my own, I used to love baby feet so much. I still do. But even more so, I LOVE baby hands. Their tiny little hands are just the sweetest things! The way they wrap perfectly around your finger in those first days, then a few weeks later they begin to touch mommy’s face ever so gently. By a couple months old those little wrinkly fingers have filled with chubbiness between each knuckle and their wrists have the sweetest little fat roll. Sweet little baby hands soon turn into toddler hands; less chub, more dirt, still cute….but never quite the same as those sweet baby hands that we first held.

Sigh. And that is why I am obsessed with baby hands. (Did I mention that I now have baby fever!?)

Baby Alex, you are just the cutest. I enjoyed documenting this fleeting stage for your loving family. They cherish you, and I am so glad that I can preserve these sweet moments for them to look back upon .
